Wedding season is upon us and so are bridal showers. If you are planning to host a bridal shower for an amazing girl in your life. Here are 4 tips for hosting a simple + elegant bridal shower brunch:
1. The Invitations
Invitations are your guests' first glimpse into an event. I always love opening a beautiful invitation. From the moment I take the envelope out of my mailbox I am taking in the details. When selecting a shower invitation be sure to find one that speaks to the bride to be's personality. Is her favorite color pink? Does she love the beach? Is she regal? Or modernly, classic? There are so many small elements you can add to a shower invitation: font, color, card stock, etc that can speak to bride's personality.
2.The Guest List
Before ordering your invitations, check in with the bride or someone close to the bride to get a list of names and mailing addresses. Invitations should go out between 6 to 8 weeks before the shower.
3. The Menu
Here comes the fun part! The menu.
The great thing about hosting a brunch is that there are so many tasty, easy options. Here are my top 3:
Quiche is always a great choice. It's easy to make and versatile. It can be made with meat or veggies. I like to use white quiche dishes to bake them.
The dishes look great on any table and are easy to pop into the oven if you need to reheat your quiche.
Here are is my favorite quiche recipe. It makes about 8 servings:
1 package of spinach
1/2 a package of bella mushrooms
1 package of herb + garlic feta cheese
1/2 package of shredded cheddar cheese
1 small chopped onion
2 cloves of garlic
1 cup of milk
1/2 cup of butter
salt and cayenne pepper to taste
1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees
2. In large pan, melt butter over medium heat. Saute garlic and onions until golden brown. Now, add your spinach and mushrooms. Saute until spinach is wilted and the mushrooms are golden brown.
3. Stir in spinach, mushrooms, feta and 1/2 cup cheddar cheese. Season with salt and cayenne pepper. Spoon mixture into pie crust or quiche dish. If you are using quiche dishes don't fill them to the top.
4. In a medium bowl, whisk together eggs and milk. Season with salt and pepper. Pour into the pastry shell or dish, allowing egg mixture to thoroughly combine with spinach mixture.
5. Bake quiche for 40 minutes or until the top is golden brown. Allow to sit for about 10 minutes before serving.
Pancakes/Waffles: This is another brunch classic. Grab your favorite pancake mix, fresh fruit, and maple syrup and now you have a sweet treat for your guests. I love to slice strawberries and add them to the top of my pancakes as garnish. It adds a pop of color.
Bellini's: I like a great mimosa but bellini's have a special place in heart. Peach bellini's are my personal favorite for two reason: they are as good as they sound and are so simple to make. Here's my recipe:
B's Peach Bellini
3 cups of frozen peaches
1 cup of peach nectar or agave (optional if you like your drink sweeter)
1 bottle of chilled Cupcake Vineyards Prosecco
Blend the peaches and nectar until smooth.
Pour the peach mixture into your champagne flutes until they are half full
Fill the glasses with Prosecco. Now, you've got the perfect brunch drink
Mocktails: When hosting a brunch or party it's always important to serve a mocktail. It keeps anyone that doesn't drink from feeling left out. If you're going to make a bellini, you can use sparkling water or apple juice in place of prosecco.

Table Linens: If you are planning to use table linens, I would recommend making sure they are floor length.
Centerpieces: This an opportunity to get creative. There are many simple, budget-friendly ways to create beautiful centerpieces. Here are my two favorites.
Mason jars are a great inexpensive option for creating centerpieces.
Wine bottles are another simple, inexpensive centerpiece option.
